Oz-IA is on this weekend and I have my ticket in hand!
As there is just the one stream, I won’t have to worry about missing any of the presentations. But I have to say, I was probably a bit over-zealous booking the ticket. Web Directions is on next week too and as I’m presenting, I probably should have spent the weekend polishing my preso!
One presentation I’m really looking forward to seeing on Saturday is Steve Baty’s Analysing Quantitative Data. I spoke to him about it a couple of weeks ago and it’s a huge area I’ve never really got into. So I’m *really* looking forward to an hour on maths n stuff. No really, I am… But it’s going to be intense. Just ask him about ‘average’ and you’ll know what I mean…
I’m also looking forward to seeing Rashmi Sinha present on Ten lessons from the design of SlideShare at the end of the day.
For the Sunday sessions I’ll definitely be around for:
9:45am Scott Parsons on Exploring multidimensional tagging frameworks
10:45am Matthew Hodgson on Semantic analysis in IA
11:45am Donna Maura on Ethical issues and information architecture - this is going to be *really* interesting
1:30pm Gary bunker and Gabriel Hermansson on User Research in virtual worlds
Aside from all that, it’s going to be a great opportunity to catch up with people I haven’t seen for a while who can’t make it to Web directions this year.
With all the web stuff going on over the next ten days it feels like a bit of a surprise party… I have no idea who I’m going to bump into, but when I do, it’s going to be fun.
See you soon!

Hope you enjoyed the semantic analysis talk
